Pinkfresh Studio: Shadow box cards + a process video

Hey, crafty friends! Happy to see you here! Today I will share with you two shadow box cards featuring stamps and dies from Pinkfresh Studio newest release. Let’s jump right in!

These shadow box cards were inspired by Jennifer McGuire and her awesome shadow box card tutorial. Make sure to check her YouTube channel or blog for this, because I’m not even half as good as she is at explaining all the tips and tricks!

Both cards are very simple on the outside, because the magic happens when you open them. For the front of the first card I used a sentiment and snowflakes from the Home for the Holidays set.

For the inside I used Happy Hugs set. I coloured these adorable bears with Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolours: Licorice and Candy apple and die cut them with the coordinating die.

As you see I’m not that much of a colourer, but I like how they turned out, and I like this a bit sloppy watercolour look. The sentiment is also from the Happy Hugs set.

To create the sky behind them, I applied Pinkfresh Studio Sky Blue and Sapphire with an almost dry flat brush. I think this texture creates an illusion of a snowy wind, doesn’t it?

The second card is more earthy. I used mostly kraft for it with a bit of white and blue. This card features Lush Greenery set from our October release.

Again, pretty plain on the outside, isn’t it? But when you open it…

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things to Say set, which is jam-packed with wonderful uplifting words – an absolute must-have! I stamped the sentiment in Stazon ink on acetate. I’m really happy with the soft and subtle look of this card.

I also have a process video for you. You can watch it on my YouTube channel.

Thank you very much for spending time with me! Have a fabulous day and find time for something that makes you happy!

PinkFresh Studio October release blog hop

Happy to see you here! Thank you for joining us in celebrating new release from Pinkfresh Studio jam-packed with awesomeness! There are amazing giveaways and shopping promos going on, more on this below. First let’s have a look at some of the amazing stuff from the release!

I have 5 projects to share with you today featuring absolute must-haves: Dainty Blossoms die set and Noteworthy Frames as well as a bunch of other new goodies.

My first card is super simple, you just need to die-cut a flower with one of the gorgeous floral dies from Dainty Blossoms die set and adhere it to the panel from Indigo Hills 2 paper pad.

Wonderful thing about Noteworthy Frames dies is that they are designed to cut a slit in the paper, you’ll see it below in one of my cards, but you can totally cut them out to make a beautiful label. The sentiment is from another gorgeous set full of uplifting sentiments – My Favorite Things to Say.

Next card is my favourite kraft and white combo.

To jazz up the simple design, I scored lines on the white panel and added the twine. An again, I created a label for my sentiment which is from the same set as the previous one.

For the next card I coloured a piece of watercolout paper with Pinkfresh Studio Lavender and Sapphire liquid watercolours and die cut a bunch of Dainty Blossoms.

This time I used Noteworthy Frames the way they were designed to be used.

And you can make a perfect slit for cash with them! The sentiment here is from Playful Animal Friends 2 set.

One more card in shades of purple. This time I used the Dainty Blossoms  for embossing.

I coloured a piece of watercolour cardstock with the same liquid watercolours I used for the previous card and embossed three florals into it. Then I added the sentiment, for which I used Smile die and Lush Greenery set also from the new release.

Finally, for my last project I made a gift box. I die cut the Dainty Blossoms and coloured them as cornflowers. They made a prefect embellishement for a simple white gift box.

Here I used Noteworthy Frames to create a cute little tag. The sentiment on the tag is also from My Favorite Things to Say set.

I hope you like my ideas. Comment below which of the five projects was your favourite for a chance to win a $25 giftcard to Pinkfresh Studio shop.

The Pinkfresh Studio blog will be giving away the entire October release to one lucky commenter.

Hip Kit Club: playing with the weekly sketch

Hey, crafty friends. I was on Hip Kit Club blog a few days ago with a layout featuring HKC September 2018 kits. Here’s the sketch for this week

What I love about sketches is that they trigger your creativity, and yet do not limit you! You are free to interprete them in your own way.

For my page I used September 2018 kits. I started with Turquoise Mist and Lily White Bazzil cardstock from September 2018 Cardstock kit.  First I smooshed some colour and added some splatters using the paints from the September 2018 Color kit.

Then I stamped and die-cut the flowers from the Vicky Boutin set included in the same kit and painted the centres with Cotton Candy. I aslo coloured some watercolour paper with the Mustard Seed paint from the Color kit, stamped and fussy cut the leaves. I used grey ink to stamp my images for a softer look.

I fussy cut flowers from the PinkFresh Studio Indigo Hills 2 page included in September 2018 Main kit.

Probably the star of this layout is the title. These acrylic stickers from September 2018 Embellishment kit are just amazing!

As for the “glam selfies” – they were taken in August in Cyprus, where I stayed with my kids for a month. And this was me a day before my husband joined us on holiday.

Thank you for stopping by! Hope you are inspired to play with our weekly sketch. We cant wait to see what you create! Have a fabulous day and find time for something that makes you happy!

Pinkfresh Studio Share Cheer Campaign & Card Drive

Happy World Cardmaking Day! Today is a day filled with fun & crafting, and we are excited to be joining in on all the festivities! Today we’ve chosen to reveal a very special stamp & die set called, “Share Cheer”, that is available for purchase now!

When you purchase this stamp set, 100% of the net profits will benefit UNICEF. We chose this organization because they help children and operate in more countries than any other humanitarian organization. UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories and in the world’s toughest places to reach the children and young people in greatest need. You can learn more about what they do HERE.

I decided to make a quick and simple notepad. I was inspred by the image from the set – during holiday season we have to joggle so  many things and we sure share cheer! It will make a cute little gift, or you can use it for recording gift ideas, menu ideas or any other holiday related stuff to help you get through the holiday season.

I stamped the image on a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and coloured it, quite lazily, with Copics. Holiday Vibes paper seemed perfect for my project. I also coloured some elements with a silver gel pen.

I chose not to add the bow, as you’ll probably be carrying the notepad in your bag and you don’t want the bow to fall off.

I used my Cinch from We R Memory Keepers to bind my notebook, but you can totally do without it. Here’s a link to a short video on my YouTube channel with a quick tutorial on saddle stitch binding. Another option would be, just get yourself a ready-made notebook and decorate the cover!

Next stop on the hop is super talented Rebecca Luminarias. And here’s the list of all the participants.

Thank you for hopping along with us, and make sure to come back on Monday for October release. It’s amazing!

Wait! There’s more!

The second part of the Share Cheer campaign is a Holiday Card Drive benefiting The Holiday Project, which is local to Pinkfresh Studio Headquarters in Houston, TX. We would love for you to send a holiday themed card(s) to us, and we will personally deliver each card we receive to The Holiday Project! They need approximately 3,000 cards this holiday season, so let’s put our best foot forward together and make a dent in that number! Share your card drive projects with us through the link list at the bottom of the Pinkfresh Studio blog post, and then physically send them to:

Pinkfresh Studio

11261 Richmond avenue, Suite # G108

Houston, TX 77082

The spirit of this campaign is about giving, and we really hope that those who are able will purchase this adorable stamp/die set for a good cause. But we also want to be giving as well, so we are going to do 7 giveaways of holiday themed stamp sets! We will draw 4 of the winners from all of the blog comments, and 3 of them from the Card Drive link-up. So, by commenting and creating you will have the chance to win one of the following sets:

Squirrel Friends

Joy & Cheer

Simple Joy

Magical Christmas

Happy Holidays

Train Ride

Home for the Holidays

The winners will be announced on Sunday, October 21st on Pinkfresh Studio GIVEAWAY PAGE. Please make sure to chekc that page to claim your prize within two weeks.

The Card Drive link list will stay up until November 30th for those that want to participate, but will not be eligible for the giveaways after October 21st.

Gratitude Friday: Concord and 9th

It’s the last Friday of the month, so it’s time for Gratitude Friday. This is a monthly feature where I show gratitude and love for my favourite companies and people in the industry who enable us to express ourselves through art and crafting! You can find my first posts dedicated to WPlus9 here and to MFT here.

Today, I’m singing praise to Concord and 9th. I adore their unique designs! Their stamps and dies really stand out among other crafty companies! I was lucky to guest design for them last year. Here are some of my favourite projects I created for them as a GD.

My all time favourite set from Concord and 9th would be Hello Lovely! This is probably my absolute favourite  floral image. Here are a couple projects I made with it.

If you are on Instagram, you can see more of my Concord and 9th projects at #concordand9th_craftawaywithme.

Today I would like to share with you four cards I made to celebrate my love for Concord and 9th. Also, they turned out to be my first experience with alcohol ink lifting.

The first cards resulted from a failure. For some reason alcohol ink wouldn’t lift. I stamped several times, I even re-inked the pad! Nothing! So I just stamped the image in Stazon ink and made two cards out of one. Hello Lovely set again! I told you I love it!

I didn’t want to give up. So I decided to try another kind of paper. Yupo instead of Ranger alcohol ink paper. . And it worked much better this time! Turns out, regular alcohol ink paper is too porous for the lift ink. So you need to use Yupo or acetate, something else that is non-porous (thanks to one of my Instagram followers for this information!). For this card I used Thankful Leaves set – another gorgeous floral arrangement from Concord and 9th.

I stamped the lifted ink off onto a piece of regular cardstock and made this into one more simple yet beautiful card. The sentiment is also from Concord and 9th – Heartfelt Smile.

Thank you for dropping by! I really appreciate your time! Make sure to check #concordand9th_craftawaywithme on Instagram for more inspiration. Have a great day and find time for something that makes you happy!

Quick layout with Hip Kit Club

Hey everyone! I shared this post a couple days ago on Hip Kit Club blog. When I got my HKC September kit I had to make something with it straightaway!

While I was waiting for the kit to arrive, I knew the first photo I would use with it would be this one. It’s a picture of my daughter, Dasha, from a few years back, when she was still in kindergarten. One day there was a kids’ concert dedicated to the International Women’s Day celebrated on the 8th of March. All girls were dressed as flowers. Dasha was a violet. We  had made the costume for her the night before, and she also had learned a poem about this flower. Well… I may have shed a couple tears while looking at my little girl when she went on stage on that day.

As I said this layout took me less than 30 minutes to make. I used the Hip Kit Club September 2018 Main Kit, as well as the stamps and paints from the September 2018 Color Kit.

Bazzill Wisteria cardstock from September 2018 Cardstock Kit  seemed a perfect backdrop for the Indigo Blue 2 page.

And of course my job wouldn’t have been so effortless and easy without gorgeous Indigo Blue 2 ephemera and gold foiled wood stickers, all from the Main Kit.

Sometimes… well most of the time…we don’t have much time to craft. Good news – we still can make beautiful projects in the little time we have with our HKC kits!

Thank you so much for spending time with me!

Have a fabulous day and find time for something that makes you happy!
